Village Hall>>Licensing Act
Village Hall-Licensing Act
A new Act has been introduced by the Government to license entertainment activities in the Hall, and a secondary license to cover the SALE of alcohol at events in the building and the grounds.

Temporary Events Notices
, or TENS as they are called, will allow the Hall 12 events per annum where alcohol is SOLD at a bar etc. Application forms will be obtainable from Claire Akehurst, bookings secretary for the Jubilee Hall. Two copies of this four page document, have to be sent to the CDC and a copy to the Chief of Police in Chichester for clearance. The authorities require at least 10 working days notice of such an event.

The administration of this is not completely clear, but further information will soon be available. All other events where alcohol is only CONSUMED and not SOLD (i.e. private parties, barn dances, bowling for the pig, ploughing matches, hang gliding, bungy jumping and weddings etc. will NOT require a TEN.
