What's in a name...? As with a number of place names, OVING has been spelt in different ways over the years. In 1575 it was OWUINGE. The other Oving in Buckinghamshire has claimed OUINGES, OUINGGES, OWUING, OWVING and OVEING over the years! A number of local people adhere to
the O-VING pronunciation, others favour OOVING-Which
