Latest application re
Glasshouse production, Tangmere Airfield |
The Full Council has
considered application TG/07/1408/FUL which is for increased
glasshouse production at Tangmere Airfield. The Parish Council has
made the following representation to CDC:
Oving Parish
Council is surprised that it has not been formally consulted on a
development of this magnitude which could have a detrimental impact
on the parish without appropriate Planning Conditions. We have the
following concerns:
-
1. The
proposed development would create significant additional light
pollution. If the development is permitted, a Condition must be
applied requiring the use of blinds to prevent artificial light
escaping from the site. In addition, tree planting should be
required inside the boundary of the site for screening and to
supplement control of escaping light pollution.
-
2. The
public right of way across the site must be safeguarded.
-
3. Access to
and egress from the site must be strictly regulated to ensure
inappropriate lanes are not used by large vehicles. In
particular, the use of entrances on the west, south and east of
the site should be prevented.
-
4. We are
concerned that the proposal may compromise the adjacent
composting facility which has a valuable role in waste reduction
policies. The application therefore needs to be considered
against strategic planning policies.
